Jaguar set to sparkle with Steinmetz deal. | F1

Jaguar Racing will hope that a new sponsorship deal with the Steinmetz diamond collection will help its season begin to shine from this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix onwards.

The two parties reunited at the most glamorous event of the Formula One season to unveil an one-race arrangement that will see the Steinmetz name appearing on the bargeboards of the cars driven by Mark Webber, Christian Klien and, on Friday, by reserve driver Bjorn Wirdheim. Last season, Jaguar took the unique decision to re-colour its signature 'leaping cat' logo pink in celebration of the 'Steinmetz Pink' - a 59.60carat natural, pink diamond.

"We are delighted to formalise our relationship with Steinmetz," commented Jaguar Racing MD David Pitchforth, "Their passion for excellence and talent for innovation have made them a real force at Monaco, and we will take great pride in lining up on the grid this Sunday with most glamorous racing cars in Monte Carlo."

The Steinmetz Diamond Jaguar will be officially unveiled this afternoon [Wednesday] at the Collection de Voitures Anciennes de SAS in the Fontvielle district of Monaco. The two companies have celebrated the unveiling by producing a finely-tuned machine with an astounding nose-cone adornment in the shape of a magnificent sunexis cut diamond.

"We are very proud to announce our formal sponsorship of the Jaguar Racing team," concluded Steinmetz CEO Nir Livnat, "This partnership is the coming together of two great luxury brands that share a common goal -.the pursuit of engineered perfection and luxury."

The unveiling also revealed Jaguar's livery for this weekend's grand prix, with a lot more red in evidence thanks to a link-up with the Hollywood movie Ocean's 12.

The film, a sequel to the ultra-successful remake of Ocean's 11, is promoted on both the nose and engine cover of the R5.
